I feel this blog is the beginning of a conversation I have been meaning to start for over a decade. A conversation that I feel many people out there have also been craving. A true discussion and exploration of ideas.
What ideas? Simply put, all of them. Personal growth, business, politics, travel, music, art, the modern condition, philosophy, religion – you name it.
Just recently, I completed my first book (soon to be released). This book, as a concept, has been in the making for (believe it or not) 7 years.
Although, Logicrats: A New Paradigm was a book written by me , in many ways I felt restrained when writing it.
But the restraint was by design.
The goal of the book was to provide a blueprint for a way of thinking I feel is painfully needed in our modern condition and, as I also argue, lacking in the mainstream conversation. The book was NOT intended to dive too deep into my actual thoughts and ideas (what I think).
The goal of this blog, however, IS to dive deeper into my actual thoughts and ideas.
There is a sentiment that I express in my book, Logicrats: A New Paradigm, that I feel is very much mirrored in this blog.
A fundamental question I had repeatedly failed to answer when deciding to begin this blog was “why am I creating this blog at all”?
Surprisingly enough, this was very much the same fundamental question I had difficulty answering when writing my book.
T.S. Eliot expressed it eloquently when he wrote,
“We shall not cease from exploration and the end of all of our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.”
THAT is why I decided to start this blog – as well as publish my book. I hope my perspective on various topics comes to show you there are more rooms in the house you’ve been living in than you have come to notice. That you have more options in your life than those that are immediately visible.
Do you know what makes me cry in the middle of the day, in public? People debating false choices with a serious tone of voice.
I don’t claim to have everything figured out – but I am determined to get pretty damn close.
And it would be a pleasure to do it in good company…
So join me,
Cheers,
Wow! Great post, really makes you think…. I can’t wait for more!
